Hi guru, my developer has just told me that they had obtained the TOP from BCA last week, under normal circumstances, how long do I need to wait for my unit's key? I intend to rent out my unit, should I start advertising now or to wait till I get my key? Appreciate and thanks for the advise.

Hi Angelina,

You may start the advertising at any point of time, however, if you do not have the keys on hand, no viewing can be done so if you wish to have a clearer picture, call up the relevant personnel to seek clarifications as different developers will have different protocols in the differing circumstances. In addition, you could also be looking at some loss time in rectification of any defects if any before unit is ready for show.

Hi Angelina, it will be good to start marketing your unit now in order to secure interested tenants. As mentioned, you will need to rectify any defects found within your unit before it is fit for occupation. Usually, the developer will inform you to pay the maintenance fees first, before you collect the keys.
