Hi Guru, I sold my house at a cheaper selling price with the private agreement of temporary 3 months extension of stay. However, before the completion date, the buyer threatened to withdraw application and to sue us on the ground that the advertising post stated the 3 months extension was negotiable. We explained that was the advertising post and in the OTP it was agreed by both parties on the selling price with 3 months extension. Subsequently, we negotiated to move out with just 2 months extension (no contractual agreement just through whatsapp). However, our family of 3 couldn't find any rental lease that is able to accommodate us for 2 months and had to book serviced apartment of close to $9k for 1.5 months stay.
In this case, may I ask, if we could revert to 3 months extension based on the contractual agreement after the completion date? would the buyers still be able to threaten us to withdraw the application? And if so and as we have purchased the next flat, do we need to withdraw our purchase application too or would HDB give us a period to sell our current flat?
Appreciate your advice.
Thank you appreciate it!
