Hi Guru, currently I own a 5rm hdb and have intention to upgrade to a EC. I can only sell my hdb upon TOP of the EC as I have no alternatives place to live. Is there a contra period for me to sell my hdb before shifting into new EC, and for so how is the payment proceedings be?

Dear Sir/Mdm,

If you are purchasing an EC, you will only need to sell your current HDB flat within 6 months' from the TOP of your EC. You will be required to sign on an 'Undertaking' HDB form to declare that you must sell your flat within this time frame. Thus, this 6 months will give you ample time to sell away your HDB flat and to move into your new EC unit.

With regards to the bank loan, it will depend on which payment scheme you are taking up (either Normal Payment Scheme or Deferred Payment Scheme). You can contact me and I can refer you to a few bankers who handle EC cases.
