Hi, experts of property, my existing sub-tenant lease of HDB approved 3 room whole flat in Jurong West is expiring 31 May 2013. Since the govt is cuting down foreign workers in Sg, is it more difficult to find new sun-tenants to rent my flat? Please advise me. Thanks a lot. Best regards from, May.

Morning May,

Yes, it's true that the government is cutting down on the number of foreign workers coming into Singapore but the need for rental units are still there for existing workers and new PR who are still saving up for their purchases. Hence it would then boil down to pricing and condition of your unit.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Hi May,

You have already answered your own question that with lesser foreigners who are the main tenants for HDB flats, demand for rental units will drop.On top of the government's plan to impose a foreigner quota cap for HDB rental, this situation is likely to get worse or reduce the rental price of the HDB flats. It is time to think about your upcoming options on how do you tackle these limitations.
