Hi Experts, I am a Singaporean living overseas and intend to purchase a condo in Singapore (in case I relocate back in the future and intend to lease it out in the meantime). Can I still get 80% mortgage loan with (local?) bank? I have no existing property in Singapore but has property and mortgage loan in my current residency country. Thanks!

Hi George

Yes, chances is quite high. I met a Singaporean client recently who is based overseas and would like to purchase a property for investment in Singapore. I introduced a banker to her and managed to get a 80% loan in principle. (case to case basis).

Feel free to let me know should you need any assistance. Cheers!

Best regards

Thanks both. This is very helpful. Any condo (prefereably freehold or 999 lease) worth considering with a S$1M budget?
Afternoon George,

As for the 80% loan, buyers with good credit record and income status should be able to attain it with ease, if they do not have any property in hand. As for your case, I would recommend that we work with a banker for a more definite answer.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.
