Hi, currently my condo is rented out via a agent, however I do not have a copy of the tenant work permit as the property agent said is in breach of pdpa. Is it true for landlord holding a copy of tenant work permit in breach of pdpa? I do have a copy of tenancy agreement.

You should ask the agent which part of PDPA is he or she referring to in terms of breaching by providing you, the legal owner of the property who is renting out the property, to someone you cannot even identify with.

Hi,

As a landlord, the onus is on you to have the full set of document beside the TA, you ought to have a copy of all tenant working passes as well as passport for non Singaporean.

Landlords are allowed to collect personal data if it is necessary for the performance of a contract, such as a tenancy agreement, or for compliance with a legal obligation. Therefore, landlords are entitled to collect and keep a copy of the tenant's work permit
