Hi, can I check the procedure of getting a bank loan for new EC while waiting for my HDB to sell? Can I do that in the first place? I mean to book my new EC then wait till TOP then sell my flat? HDB allows as long as I sell 6 mths before TOP right? I am 38 yo without debt. Need some confirmation, thanks a lot.

Hi there, yes you're able to do that as long as:

1) You have enough for the 5% Cash Downpayment for your New EC.
2) You have enough for the 15% CPF Downpayment
3) You have enough funds for the stamp duty of 3%

All these you need to have now without even selling your current HDB flat.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

If you are purchasing an EC, you will only need to sell your current HDB flat within 6 months' from the TOP of your EC. You will be required to sign on an 'Undertaking' HDB form to declare that you must sell your flat within this time frame.

With regards to the bank loan, it will depend on which payment scheme you are taking up (either Normal Payment Scheme or Deferred Payment Scheme). You can contact me and I can refer you to a few bankers who handle EC cases.
