Hi,

To apply for EC from developer, your wife needs to sell away her private property and wait out a 30 month period before both of you can apply together. If its not feasible, you may want to consider getting a private property on your sole name instead and rent out her condo. This way the rental can service part of your new mortgage. I am afraid to inform you that your wife has to dispose off her private property first and observe a waiting period of 30 months before both of you are eligible to purchase a new EC.

With the 2.5 years waiting period in addition to the EC construction period, this choice might not be ideal.
