An advance welcome in relocating to Singapore. As what my fellow professionals have indicated, rental of residential properties should be on a minimum 6 months basis. I do understand that there are some websites out there which offers short term rental basis, however, These are unauthorised and you may face consequences of not having the place to stay at all if found out by the authorities. On top of that, the location which you have shortlisted near Mount Sophia will easily set you back by at least $3000 for a shoebox studio apartment which maybe relatively old as most units in that vicinity is looking at $4000 minimum. I do understand the urgency you have in arriving within a week, but you will probably need to relook into the housing options or rental price before we are able to assist. As much as we do understand that you are seeking a place on a long term but do not want to commit immediately on the long term without first trying out the place, unfortunately local regulations forbids you in doing so. It is also advisable to fly in slightly earlier to confirm the apartment prior to flying your family in. Have you gotten all the relevant visa passes approved in this relocation exercise?
