Hello,

I am listed as an occupier in an HDB flat owned by my wife (SC) and her mother (SPR). The flat is still within MOP (less than 5 years).

Is it possible for me to rent a condominium closer to my child's playschool? I know that all owners and occupiers must stay at the HDB within MOP, but are there any other options?

Evening Mr. Ani,

Based on your statement, you are the occupier and not essential occupier. Hence the unit was purchased by your spouse and her mother. Given the case, you are allowed to rent another unit. However, your spouse and mother-in-law will have to continue to stay at their unit.
