Does the tenant or the owner pay the commission to the agent if the owner did not sign any exclusive contract with the agent? If the owner is paying, how much should the commission be? The agent may not have done any marketing specifically for the owner's unit and he is simply bringing the tenant to view the unit as it is available. Thanks. Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,

Are you a landlord who had advertised your own property for rental and was introduced to a potential tenant by a salesperson?

I wish to be very clear in your scenario before advising. Let me know if I may assist further.
