Hi

Are you buying a private property or an HDB flat? Generally, you do not need to get a valuation before buying unless you want to know.

It is good to get an indicative value before you commit to the private property purchase.

Good evening Sir/ Mdm,

Valuation is required if you intend to take up a housing loan or using CPF OA funds.

So if you intend to do either or both, valuation needs to be done.

It depends whether is it a HDB or private property. For HDB, the valuation is done after the price is agreed upon and after the issuance of Option to Purchase.

For private property, the valuation is usually done after the deal is concluded but you would have gotten an indicative valuation before committing to a price.
