Dear Gurus, we need your advice, 2 yrs ago my gf n I bought an EC, payment mode is based on the status of bulding. TOP 2014. However, we broke off and decided to settle our house. May i know if e forfeit what is the consequences we will be facing? and can I do a transfer of ownership? (to another partner or to our parents? or ownself?) what is all the consequences for all? In addition, if by law does who have to pay the forfeit? if one of us have an affair or being betrayed? Need your advice urgently. thanks.

Hi Chloe,

20% of the purchase price will be forfeited if you make a withdrawal of the EC now.
There is a possibility that you can transfer the ownership to another partner. The best person to check with is your lawyer.

You have purchased a HDB EC which in the midst of building. You are definitely allowed to change the applicant but subjected to existing housing ruling and HDB approval.
