Dear Guru, we have just moved into our new BTO HDB flat. My widowed mother owns a pte residential ppty and had made in her will that I will be the sole beneficial if she passed away. Question is: if she dies within the MOP, can I take over the ppty without problem? Or will I be facing problem from HDB or other legal issue? Pls help, Mr. Oh.

Afternoon,

WILL will only take effect upon the deceed of your mother. In the event that such things happened within MOP period, you will still be eligible to take over ownership of that property but you will then be required to market of the inherited unit and write in for wavier of SSD.
