Just to check, have you fulfill your MOP requirement?

If yes, you are eligible to apply for a new EC if your household has at least one Singapore citizen.

To further advise you, it will be best to let my banker advise you on your in principle approval first so you can gauge how much loan you can obtain and I will do up a financial plan to see which type of unit you can afford to purchase.

Btw do you have plans to sell or hold on to your HDB while waiting for it to be constructed?

If you are able to obtain 80% bank loan, you still have to fork out 5% cash and 15% CPF OA funds or cash as 20% downpayment and do keep the estimated 3% buyer's stamp duty in mind.

Dear Mr Andika,

Going by your monthly income, it does sound pretty challenging for your plans to upgrade assuming that you have other monthly commitments financially to meet, therefore it will be in your best interest to speak to a banker to assess your financial commitments with respect to this plan for upgrade, to assess if you will be comfortable with this upgrade.

As some have shared here, you have to fulfil MOP first and form a family nucleus of at least 1 citizen to purchase new EC.

Downpayment wise you are looking at about 23% (of purchase price) of funds within 8 weeks, provided you can get an 80% bank loan.

Existing ECs in punggol are Waterwoods and Ecopolitan. While theres one coming up at Anchorvale Crescent, Sengkang. I do have some of the latest discounted prices and available units information. May I email them to you?
