Good morning,

I am afraid to inform you that you are only eligible to sell your unit after MOP date which is in 7 months' time.

Thus it means that you are only eligible to purchase a resale HDB in 7 months' time as well.

In order to be eligible to sell and purchase, I will advise you to appeal to the HDB branch office in charge of your HDB.

State in the appeal the reasons to grant you to waive the 7 more months. It could be need parents to take care of kids as current travelling time is very long etc.

I’m Daniel Tan from PropNex Realty.

You will only be able to sell your HDB after the Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) of 5 years, unless you have special permission from the HDB.

Buying the resale after the MOP will not be a problem, provided you can dispose your current unit 6 months after the purchase.

Should you have good reasons to justify why you need to sell before your MOP is up, you can always appeal to HDB on this matter. Decision will be on a case-by-case basis.

Hi,

There are lots of reasons to appeal for early sales before MOP.
However, do note that success cases usually have both controlled and uncontrolled factors.

Once you are able to justify there are difficulties beyond human efforts over both controlled and uncontrolled factors, you will stand in good chances to get succcessful appeal.

Hi,

The official rule is that you have to complete the 5 year MOP before you can sell your flat. If you have strong reasons such as family expansion and arrangements, it may help with the appeal to sell within MOP period. Appeal approval is granted on case by case basis by Branch office.
