Good day to you.

With the part-share purchase, can I assume that the MOP has been fulfilled?
If so, renting out the entire unit is possible. Otherwise, we will need to seek HDB approval for that.

As per HDB's website:

Minimum Occupation Period (MOP)
You can rent out your flat after fulfilling the 5-year MOP. If your flat is non-subsidised (purchased from the open market without a housing grant) and purchased before 30 August 2010, the MOP is 3 years. Owners of Prime and Plus flats are not allowed to rent out the flat even after the 10-year MOP.

1) If you are the original purchaser, the MOP is computed from the date of purchase of the flat

2) If there has been a transfer of flat ownership, the MOP is computed from the effective date of the transfer of flat ownership, or the date the owner was included as an authorised occupier of the flat

3) After a resale of part-share, the owners have to meet a fresh MOP computed from the effective date of resale

Point (3) will probably affect you, but happy to work with you to see if you might be able to get HDB's approval.

If it’s an HDB flat, you’ll still need to fulfil the 5-year MOP (Minimum Occupation Period) before you can rent out the whole unit, regardless of whether you’ve just bought over your co-owner’s share and become the sole owner. The transfer of ownership doesn’t reset the MOP if you’ve already met it, but if you haven’t, you’ll need to complete the balance first.

How long have both of you own these unit prior to your part purchase? If you have fulfilled your MOP and is a Singapore Citizen household, you should be eligible to rent out the whole unit. Perhaps you can log into your HDB flat portal which will indicate your eligibility.
