It takes approximately 14 to 15 weeks from the day the buyer places the option fee deposit, all the way till hdb completion appointment at toa payoh. If there is extension stay after completion secured, it can be slightly later before the handover.

A typical HDB Timeline from the issuance of OTP to the completion date is approximately 3-4 months.
However, there are some other factors which may affect this Timeline:
- Seller's plan after selling, purchasing another?
- Buyer's plan for Buying, do they need to sell their current flat first, hence a drag in submission period?
- Does Seller require extension of stay?
- Does Buyer require early takeover for renovation works?
All these factors need to be considered and ironed out before the Seller issues the OTP to the Buyer.

Assuming that all necessary paperworks are submitted upon resale application, it will take approximately 10 weeks to complete the transaction. Prior to this process, there are several timelines which may vary:
1) Option Period - 3 weeks (prospective buyer may exercise the Option To Purchase earlier)
2) Resale Application - this is a blank field where both sellers and purchasers are required to submit their resale application to HDB. Some may indicate 7 days while the longest I have done is 60 days. Time taken for resale application to be submitted should be within the validity period of the valuation report which is 3 months.
