Evening Polly,

You are allowed to sell your private property within 6 months from key collection on your HDB unit. Based on today's market, it might be good to secure your buyer before you start hunting for your HDB unit as it might be tough to get extension from HDB to sell your private property after you have obtain keys to your HDB unit.

Hi Polly, yes you can buy a resale HDB after selling your condo unit. And I presume you are a local and purchasing a HDB together with your husband? With the present market sentiment, it would be better to sell off your private unit first then follow by the purchase of the resale HDB unit.

There are many HDB rules and regulation; therefore you may want to call me should you have any query. But one rule that may concern you is that you will be given 6 months to sell your private property should you decide to buy a resale HDB first.

Whether to sell or buy first will depend on many factors such as your timeline, financial status and current market sentiment.

Yes you may purchase a resale HDB but you would have to sell your private property within 6 months of key collection of HDB.

The timelines would have to be managed carefully so you wouldn't be put into a spot and be disadvantaged in terms of, for example, accepting a lower selling price. To help with your questions, yes, you are able to purchase a resale hdb flat without cpf housing grant / hdb loan after selling off your condominium if you or your spouse is a Singaporean Citizen or if both of you have been PRs for at least 3 years or both Singaporean.

HDB has quite a number of rules and regulations in place.

You may choose to sell off your condominium first or sell it off within 6 months after receiving keys to your HDB. Whichever your decision, it is always advisable to ensure that you have a place to stay.
