Can I ask when a housing agent is aware of a water leakage issue in a property and is still renting it out to new tenants without disclosing this problem, is there legal ? Currently, the property a particular agent is representing has waterproofing problems that have caused damage to my unit. This agent is claiming that the owner has no intention of addressing these issues. Additionally, this agent has given me incorrect advice by claiming that the property owner is not obligated to repair damages to their property, and it is the tenant's resposibility. When I attempt to reach the owner through the agent, the agent casually states that the owner is unreachable and that it's not his concern. To the best of my knowledge, the property owner/landlord is responsible for his property and should be responsible for repairing any damage to it. If the agent is working on behalf of the client, how can it not be his responsibility?
