Stamp duties are to be paid to IRAS by the Buyer, and there is no way round it.

What many Developers can offer is to absorb this ABSD by way of a discount off the list price.

Hi Mdm,

To add on to my previous reply, apart from direct discount from Developers, some Developers offer attractive schemes like the Deferred Payment Scheme, where the Buyer only pay a downpayment for the property, with majority of the balance only payable a couple years down the road.

The ABSD will be waived by discounts by developers.

Some Developers also have a STAY & PAY LATER scheme:

a) 5% of purchase price at issuance of Option to Purchase(OTP)

b) 15% upon exercise of option within 8 weeks from Option date.

c) Pay his liability of buyer's stamp duty plus ABSD ( if applicable)
Maintenance Fund for 12 months ( lump sum collection)

d) 80% balance upon completion
Upon paying the upfront 20% down payment, buyer will be allowed to collect the keys within 14 days upon written request after excercising of option n complete the sale within 12 mths from the date of OTP exercised.
