For your information, it is against the law in SG to rent for 2.5months. For private property, minimum lease term is 3 months and for HDB, minimum lease term is 6 months. And landlord must be ready to accept short term too as most landlords prefer long term lease therefore if your rental terms are not appealing to landlord, it will be quite a challenge to secure short term lease.

Just to share, for private condos in Singapore, the minimum legal rental period is 3 months, so a 2.5 months lease wouldn’t be allowed under URA rules.

Whereas HDB flats require a minimum lease of 6 months, so shorter stays aren’t permitted there either.

If your stay is flexible, one option is to extend it slightly to 3 months, I’d be more than happy to help you source a suitable unit in Yishun or nearby areas.

It is possible to find something matching the 3-month minimum in Singapore.

(2) For private properties, the minimum legal lease period is 3 months, while HDB flats require at least a 6-month tenancy.

(3) Most landlords prefer longer leases, so very short-term rentals are generally harder to secure even if legally permitted.

(4) A 2.5-month lease falls short of the minimum requirement for private homes, making it non-compliant.

(5) If the tenancy can be extended by about two more weeks to meet the 3-month rule, I’ll be glad to assist in sourcing a suitable tenant.

Summary: Short-term rentals are tightly regulated in Singapore, and adjusting the lease duration slightly can make it legally valid and more marketable.
