A security deposit (1 month rental) chq is given in Landlord;s name and he has banked it. Somehow the agreement doesnt go through due to disagreement in the terms etc over 1 week of discussions. Is landlord allowed to bank cheque without signed agreement? and if yes, how much does he have to refund back if the agreement is not gone through. How to get the whole amount back?
