A friend of mine purchased a one bedroom unit in this development for $800k plus and regretted it as he did not expect condo prices and rental to be falling. He does not earn a lot and is under a lot of stress as he bought the unit for investment. He is also unable to sell the unit due to Sellers Stamp Duty. Please advice on what kind of rental he can expect from his unit on TOP.

Hi,

Its not all doom and gloom as prices are only stabilizing and not crashing. After all, the private property index as a whole only fell by 4% last year in 2014, mainly engineered by cooling measures, and our economic fundamentals are still relatively strong.

J gateway is on a good location plot near MRT with plenty of investment growth catalysts, perhaps he should focus on these strong attributes, and as long as he has a good financial plan to hold on to the unit, there should be some positive outcome when project TOP. Thanks and hope it helps to alleviate some of his concerns.

Warm Regards,

That is the trend and in the next few years, there will be a huge supply of new condos ready for occupancy in the market.
