That is really impossible. $500 a month can get you a common room in a HDB flat at max. We will not even be able to get a master room.

Hope no offense here but if you are facing some financial problems, maybe you can approach HDB to see if you can rent an unit direct from HDB. But of course they will be very stringent in accessing your situation as those houses are really heavily subsidized and I think you need to be a Singapore Citizen.

Hi Trevor,

Current market will be very challenging to secure a common room rental in public housing based on $500. Most common rooms are looking for at least $650 for something which is decent and usually limited to only 1 tenant.

I have just transacted a master bedroom rental this morning at $2100 a month in a private residential property which is not exactly in a prime area.
