With the current new measure, does it mean that if I am a buyer, I do not need to pay agent commission if I buy a HDB resale flat from the open market?

Hi Angela,

If you do not engage the services of any agents to assist you in buying a unit, you need not pay agent fees.

Hi Angela,

Only Agents serving Private Property Buyer need not to be paid. Buyer's Agent will share service fees with the seller's agent.

As for Resale HDB Transaction, normally Seller will pay 2% & buyer will pay 1% for agent they engaged.

Hi Angela,

If you do not have an agent representing you, you do not need to pay any agent fees. Under the new laws, there cannot be dual representation. Meaning that the agent representing the seller cannot collect commission from you as there is conflict of interest.

However, it might be useful for you to speak to an agent to get an idea of your finances, as well as procedures.
