We found a house for rent(2bed unit condo and no agent fee from tenant) via property guru. agent communicated that new wardrobes will be installed in both rooms before we move in.On the day of keys hand over( day of move in), neither of wardrobes were installed.basically two empty rooms were only available on the day of move in without any storage., one of the room was a mess still with all the carpentry for the wardrobe left in the centre without assembling.the agent informed that carpenter is not available and it will take up to a max of ten more days to install it based on carpenter availability and that these are normal in these times of pandemic due to borders closing and manpower not available.
The agent is still asking us the oay the agreed upon rent for this first month even though the house is not completely move in ready.
Is this an acceptable way to hand over a house?is there a way we can escalate or complain about this or talk to owner directly to reduce the rent atleast for the first month as it is not move in ready?
