we are married sc below 35 years old, we have a 5 room flat at punggol field,MOP in few months time,is it possible after selling our house,we can upgrade to new 3 bedroom ec using our sales proceeds as downpayment?we are concern not able to get a unit for new ec,as we will be homeless and had to rent a place after selling our hdb flat.Are there such cases where hdb upgraders had difficulties or unsuccessful getting a new ec unit?

Dear upgraders,

It is prudent to do your financial calculations before making any moves and also understand what are the up front commitments for your intended EC purchase. There are definitely cases where upgraders have problem securing a unit but there are also plenty of success cases. As selling your current HDB will mean that you will be looking at a rental period of at least 3 to 4 years. Is that financially viable to you?

Hi

May I suggest that you check with a banker first? So that you will have a rough guide on the maximum loan that you can obtain, and thereafter you will know whether buying an EC is achievable or not. Cheers!
