This can be confusing.
Our rental agreement ends in early July (Signed by housemate B). A month ago, my housemate B sent me a message saying that we have to move and housemate A had already informed owner she will not be staying. During my search for place to move, housemate B asked if I've found a place and perhaps we can consider renewing the lease. I'm considering but landlord mentioned need to let her know by 7 Jun. A while later, housemate B told me that she already told owner we will be renewing but to-date, we have not signed any agreement. Due to personal reason, I'm unable to renew the lease and that somehow pissed the landlord and she don't even wanna rent to housemate B and wanted to forfeit the 2mths deposit. Now I will have to compensate for my housemate's losses.
Pls advise what can I do.
