My wife and I are with 2 children below 16 yrs of age, family income about $10,000 per month gross.
We have a HDB resale bought without grant some 15 years back. MOP has been satisfied.
We also have a private apt.

Question:
1. if we sell the private apt, wait 30 months and sell the HDB flat, do we then enjoy all terms associated with first-timers?
2. we may have rejected a flat some 10 over years back after selecting the unit, does that disqualify us from 1st timer eligibility?
3. if we do enjoy first-timer eligiblity, what is available for us then, assuming rules remain relatively similar in 30 months' time?

Afternoon Lawrence,

Based on today's ruling, you are eligible to apply for BTO after you have sold away your private property for 30 months. The ruling where BTO applicant who rejected the chance to select for a unit will received debarment is only effective in recent years, hence it's unlikely to cause any impact on you. Since you have not purchased any unit directly from HDB, you are eligible to enjoy the housing grant but this would again be subjected to scrutiny due to your current gross household income status..

Hi Lawrence

Yes, you are right. Assuming if you will to sell off both hdb and private units and wait for 30 months, you will be eligible to apply for a BTO but subjected to your income wise. You may contact the HDB svc hotline at 1800 866 3066 for more details.

Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Cheers!
