My nephew ( with wife ) was allocated a 4 room BTO some time in mid 2010. New flat should be ready around 2014/15. Meanwhile, can he purchased a resale, 4/5 room, while waiting for his new flat? He would hv to sell off this resale after obtaining his new BTO. But what abt min MOP? Any agent care to comment?

Morning Chin,

MOP for resale unit is 5 years. He have also declared that he do not have other HDB property, when he paid the deposit for the BTO.
Hence he is legally not allowed to purchase any resale unit for now, unless he wants to give up on the BTO unit.

    Thks for clarification. Strange though, as my nephew told me, his friend, who at same time, bought the same BTO project and now managed to buy a resale. Already completed and moved in since end last year. So he is wondering, whether can he do the same. He has technically not own any HBD, but his BTO is under construction. Will HBD allow???
