It has been more than a year since we last listed our HDB for sale (since July 2016). We have yet to receive a good offer but we are behind on our monthly mortgage instalments ever since I was retrenched 2 years ago and just got hired recently. Tried enquiring with HDB if they could buy our flat back but the answer is a no. What other choices do we have apart from waiting and waiting and waiting for a good offer? Our unit is on the 2nd floor and near a bustop with odd-shaped rooms. Those are the reasons previous viewers gave as to why they rejected our flat. Any gurus to advise what other choices do we have left?

Good afternoon,

Knowing the concern from buyers on your unit, understanding the competitive marketing value and working on your timeline would eliminate the unwanted frustration.
When you indicated good offer, we will need to weigh the options before moving on. Not many buyers are keen on lower floor units due to noise and hygiene issue. With irregular shaped rooms, buyers will have a lot of wasted space on the fixtures and flitting. Even though it would be quite transparent that the offer received might be lower than average transaction pricing, you will need to understand that such value are guide. They do not indicate the condition, situation and purpose of transaction.

Hence i would deem that by adjusting your expectations,it might help you to move on accordingly.
