There are both advantages and disadvantages of buying any property and it depends a lot on individual requirements.

I am sure that when it comes to investment, what an investor would like to see if positive cash flow without the need to top up cash monthly to meet the monthly instalment, therefore if a property allows you to be in such a position and you do not lose value of the property overtime, it is definitely an attractive investment. I have a 1 bedroom unit in Cosmo where it is near to Mountbatten MRT. Right at the city fringe therefore it will be an expat choice for rental. Rental rates can go for as high as $2800 a month and owner is looking for $700k for this freehold unit.
