I understand where you are coming from, however, as agents marketing the property for rent, we are not the direct owners who can make decisions on who to rent the property to, therefore in order to avoid wasting the precious time of prospective tenants, we will screen and filter off according to landlord's requirements, which I believe it is better instead of wasting the time of the prospective tenants to come for viewing and only gets rejected after putting in an offer.
