I'm an Australian citizen looking to buy residential property in Singapore. Is it correct that due to the existing free trade agreement status between Australia and Singapore that the ABSD 15% does not apply to me? Please confirm or clarify. Thanks.

Good afternoon Henry,

Only purchasers from these countries wont be subject to ABSD:

1.Nationals and Permanent Residents of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland
2.Nationals of the United States of America

Sorry to inform you that you will still be subject to ABSD.

Hope my explanation helps!

Hi Henry,

You are right about the ABSD remission due to FTA however they are only applicable to nationals of USA, Iceland and 3 other European cities.

You may however wish to focus on Firesales properties or undervalued properties with % loss as high as 15% and above to make up for your tax. Do contact me to share more on your requirements for me to churn out units from the entire inventory.

Hi Mr Henry,
You may want to consider investing in commercial properties which is not subjected to additional stamp duties. with the right location, it also has a potential for higher upside and rental yield.
Kindly drop me a call or email for a more detailed discussion on how we can advance your interested in Singapore properties.
