The commission payable is 2% and I assure you a lot of time, effort and money will be invested into marketing your property to ensure that you will get the best possible selling price. Some salesperson may be inclined to give discounts but ultimately less efforts will be invested to market your property and the loss due to lower selling price outweighs the money saved from commission.

As addressed by most of the agents here, commission is a remuneration given to agents based on a few things :

1) What marketing plans offered
Good marketing plan usually get better responses, hence higher chance of achieving better pricing

2) Profile of Agent
The profile of the agent doing for you is important as their area of specialization and area of focus does play a role in getting responses. Again, ability to get more people to your flat, increases the chances of helping you to sell your flat earlier. As it is a downward trend market now, holding it longer will have possibility of selling lower.

3) Experience of Agent
Number of years in the market does not equate to say one is experienced. What properties the Agent has been transacting and the number of transactions does say.

Review these and you can then decide whether to pay lower or higher commission.
