Your friends are eligible to purchase leasehold private condos. Depending on their age and income status, they can obtain max of 80% loan. ABSD of 15% and Stamp duty of 3% is also payable.

Good morning!

Your friends are eligible to purchase private condos/ apartments without any restrictions/ requirements or terms and conditions.

Do share with them that they will be subject to 15% additional buyer's stamp duty as foreigner. Thus their initial outlay will be as such if they can obtain max 80% loan:

1) 20% cash downpayment
2) estimated 3% buyer's stamp duty
3) 15% additional buyer's stamp duty
4) $3k legal fees
5) valuation fee, stamp duty for mortgage etc

Hi,

It is possible, but they will be subjected to 20% downpayment in cash and 18% stamp duties, provided they can get 80% loan. Loan depends on their age, income and credit profile. Thanks and hope to assist with their purchases further.

Foreigners can buy as many condo units as they want.
There is additional buyer stamp duty of 15% for each purchase.

Capital outlay will be

20% down payment
3% buyer's stamp duty + 15% additional buyer's stamp duty

Loan normally is upto 70%.
