I co-own a 5-rm with my father (for over 20 years). Have some spare cash (up to $80K) and CPF ($100K), and thought of investing in local private property. Any recommendations in the $500K to $600K region? Preferably completed properties only, to rent out.

Morning,

Since you co-own the current HDB unit with your father, did you also utilize CPF monies for the monthly installment as well? If so, you are required to set aside the CPF minimum sum prior being eligible to utilize the balance for the purchase. You will also need to know how much loan you are eligible for, before jumping in for the purchase. Do also take note that you will be liable for 7% ABSD, since this purchase will be your second property in holding.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Hi Owner,

As you are the co-owner of the current flat with your parent, there will be 7% Additional Buyer Stamp Duty imposed to you when you purchase on the second property.

May I further provide my assistance in understanding better which preferred area you are looking to invest and if required, feel free to contact me at 9001 0979  for non-obligation discussion.
