With a pinch of salt, if we were to advise that you enter the market now against your friends' advise to hold until 2nd half of 2016, whose advise will you take given that we are doing sales of property for a living?
I believe more importantly, we need to look at the profiling of your investment. If you already have a specific project in mind that you are keen in, perhaps you should make your move now before the choice units are snapped up. Choice units of any projects are units that will generate good buyers' and tenants' interest, therefore easier to liquidate in times of needs. Units with undesirable conditions will ultimately drop down the pecking order from buyers and tenants alike.
Last but not least, are those friends of yours also planning to make their move and making plans for specific projects? In any form of investments, it is very important to make plans for it and react to the situation instead of moving along with the flow of market and be the result of market forces. If you purchase 1 day early, you make plans earlier according to the market to circumvent the situation rather than wait for another day for market to decide what you should do.
