    I cant sell my current flat as its still within the 5 yrs period. Transfer of ownership has to be done after 14th Feb 2016. And yes, I need to sell my property before I can take over my BTO. I was wondering when should i start to market my current unit since new owner cannot move in till after 14th Feb 2016.
Dear Eadric,

As with what my fellow professionals have indicated, main consideration is the requirements of funds from sale to purchase. If not required, you can still leave it until keys are collected. Otherwise, you will need to consider selling as soon as possible since your unit is on #2 which is not exactly desirable among the generic pool of buyers out there, unless you will accept significant price difference from what your prospective valuation can fetch or lower than other similar units for sale. That said, it will still be a challenge to sell a #2 HDB unit. To top it all, sales will also depend on the age of your property for those older properties tend to attract less buyers given the balance tenure making it less attractive.
