Hi,I like to purchase a landed property for own stay. Intention is again own stay and capital appreciation. My budget is $2m, and it can only get me a freehold/999 in faraway location in the east/west/north,or I can get a 99 leasehold in centralized location. I need a 4 bedroom landed and preferably one that does not require major renovation. Please advice me on the differences between the freehold/leasehold in different location.

Hi Yeo,

You can probably get something decent in area like D13 or D20 (Casuarina, Nemesu or Thomson Garden area) with this price range, however, I am afraid that you probably do not have that many units to choose from currently in the market. I do have a small terrace house for sale with only 3 bedrooms under $2m. Nevertheless, if you are able to stretch further, you could probably be able to have more choices.

    Hi Geryl,

    I cannot stretch further as I m taking 60/40 loan. Nonetheless,I m keen to find out the difference between a freehold, 999/99 leasehold landed property. Ideally,can someone point out the difference is freehold and 999 leasehold? I m also open in buying a piece of land and rebuild,but it must be freehold.
