We are living in an EA which is near an mrt station now, and are thinking of buying an EC this year.

The EC will only be ready in 2016 and we are thinking of selling the EA only when the EC is ready. However, we are unsure of how the flat prices will be by then, as many HDB & BTO flats will be ready by then - and we are thinking resale prices may drop.

Also, the reason why we would like to buy a EC is due to the income ceiling. We will exceed the income ceiling next year. We are thinking if we do not buy now, we will not be able to do so in future. However, we are unsure if buying this EC is a good investment choice.

Looking forward to some advice.

Afternoon Iris,

You are looking at investment hence holding power and liquidity is the key. Are you using the funds from sales of EA to purchase the EC? Or do you have spare cash at hand?
There are a lot of new EC and condo project which have being launch or already in the pipeline. Beside being lower cost, what makes you think that it's a worthy investment after MOP?
Working out your investment roadmap should give you a clearer picture.
