Hi, my friend is a foreiger (PRC). Wish to invest a 1BR. How much he has to pay the duty stamp together ? How can he get the loan ? ( Loan from Local Bank or China Bank). Any good location for investment ? He has about 200k in hand.

Good day,

For foreign buyers, normal stamp duty (up to 3%) and additional buyer's stamp duty (10% for foreigners) would apply.

As an example, for a $700,000 property, he will have to pay $15,600 in stamp duty plus $70,000 in additional buyer's stamp duty.

For the loan, he can get an approval in-principle done with local banks first, I'll be able to introduce bankers to him for him to decide.
