Good morning buyer,

If both of you purchase your first residential property in Singapore as a married couple, no additional buyer's stamp duty will be applicable. IRAS will treat it as your matrimonial home.

Hope it helps!

If you need any assistance in your property purchase, feel free to contact me.

Warmest Regards,

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

I once applied a BTO and had cancelled it because of a failed relationship. The unit was cancelled before it was ready and my deposit was forfeited. Is my next property still considered first residential property?
Morning,

First residential property purchased as matrimonial unit, owned by at least one SC counterpart, is exempted from ABSD.

Good afternoon,

As long as you don't have any existing residential property under your name, your property purchase will be considered as the first property you own. Do take note that only married couple with a SPR/ foreign spouse purchasing first property will be exempt from ABSD.
