Hi, i would like to sublet my whole unit but with the intention of coming back to stay in the future after rental contract has ended. The flat is a HDB Exec flat and i have met all the eligibility criteria for owners to sublet the flat. Hence, if i would like to erect a wall to build a study room so as to keep all my belongings(lock it up), is it still considered as subletting the whole unit? (All living space, such as the 3 rooms,kitchen,etc, except for the aforementioned 'locked study room' are available for rent). I only want to rent out the whole unit so as to be eligible to rent another HDB flat. Please let me know if HDB has a definition of 'whole/entire unit'. Thank you!

Why would you want to rent out your existing HDB, erect another room to store your belongings and then move out to another rented HDB unit?

As long as all the rooms are open for stay, then it is considered whole unit..
