Hi - I would like to rent out my 4-rom hdb flat unfurnished. What is the market for this like? Should I consider providing some furniture for a higher likelihood of rental? Appreciate your expert opinion and contact details. Thanks.

As of now, the rental market is soft and it's also depend on the location your HDB flat is. Adding furniture is a plus point, but not actually can demand higher rental as some tenant have their own furniture.

Hi, yes that is possible too. But I would suggest leaving your unit as partial furnished and don’t do anything to it first. As there are a handful of tenant who might already have their own sets of furniture when they shift from house to house. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

Dear prospective landlord,

Renting the apartment out as furnished unit does not necessary mean higher rental, as prospective tenant who would have made an offer to rent your apartment could be put off by the fact that they need to seek alternative storage for their existing furnitures.

Keep the options open in terms of furnishing perhaps to see what are tenant's requirements before deciding whether to move it forward or not. This is speaking from years of dealing with rental transactions.
