Hi, I rented a 2+1 HDB in AMK on a 1 year lease in May'12. I am now being transferred to a different country by my company after 6 months of my lease. The company is not providing any support on lease termination etc. Also there is no diplomatic clause in the lease agreement. I have informed the landlord more than 1 month in advance but the landlord's agent says i have to compensate her for 6 months rent. Can anyone guide me on what should my approach be? Given that i am no longer employed in Singapore is it fair for the tenant to compensate for 6 months (is it even enforceable?)
