Hi,

I am considering to invest on a property in Geylang but I am worried if I can get any potential buyers in the next 5 years after it is build, cos after all, it is Geylang... popular to be the red light district.

Will any potential family unit interested to get a two bedrooms unit? If yes, may I ask the reasons why? Is there any reasons that I might miss out?

Would appreciate the Gurus to provide me your professional insights.

I have just sold a 3 bedrooms unit in Geylang, despite your concerns.

Which project are you keen in? Rental yield is great in the projects in Geylang, and some of these projects are attracting great expatriate tenants profile. You need to look into the unit mix within the development in order to avoid potential concerns from buyers or tenants moving forward.

Different groups of people will have different schools of thoughts. If today you are having this school of thoughts then definitely there will be others who feels the same.

Although the location Geylang often connects our thoughts to the red light district, but it is definitely more than that. There are many factors that we need to look at. First of all, are you buying purely for investment or for own stay? If it is for your own stay, what is family profile like? Many factors to take into consideration. If you are looking at purely for investment, then actually properties in Geylang are really kind of popular but of course there are some other problems that comes with it as well. The location is definitely good as it is really quite near to the city. I have my own set of thoughts about Geylang but I guess it is really not very convenient to share in public media like this. So maybe I can suggest that you can give me a call or we can meet up for a coffee. No worries there are no obligations at all and we can really just take it as a chat. Hi

Understand your concerns on the district. however all properties will attract different interest parties. I have encounter some family who just insist on that district, maybe due to the vicinity of workplace, or emotional attachment to the areas.

I will advise that if you dont feel comfortable on the area, its better to shift your focus to an area that you will like.
