Hi. I am 25 years old now and I am not thinking of getting married before 35 years old. I am a marine engineer so I do not actually need a place to stay now. If I have a sum of money and if I want to invest in properties, do u think it's too soon to do it now or should I wait for another 10 years so that I can buy a HDB first under my own name (since I'd already have retire from sealife and work as a lecturer having my salary slashed all the way to sgd5k which makes me an eligible candidate for buying HDB) and then start investing in Condos because I understand that once u own a condo, u won't be able to buy a HDB and if u think I should start buying a condo now, a studio with 1xxx psf or a 3+1 6xx psf, which one would u recommend?

Afternoon,

If you have ready cash, it would be good to do some solid investment for now. You can choice to use it for home stay or rental. When you reach the age of around 35, you can then sell away your private property, and use the money to buy a HDB unit, while using the balance for some other investment. That's how people make money work hard for them.

Hi,

If you have the concern about not being eligible to purchase a HDB in future, why not consider purhasing a commercial or industrial property with good rental yield?

I do have an attractive buy on hand for an industrial unit with high rental yield. Should you be interested in exploring in this area, do let me know further.
