It's indeed a good idea to be living near each other. As per some gurus have mentioned, Reservoir View and Reservoir Road does have a difference in pricing so you may need to specify is it View or Road.

I also think that if your parents are intending to take a BTO, then it might be a good idea to apply for the BTO and only sell later when the new house is coming. Another thing to take into consideration is your parents' current flat a subsidized flat? If yes, then we will need to factor in Resale Levy as well.

There are much more to be discussed in details and I will be glad to meet up with you to discuss this further. I also came across this word cash-back being used in one of the replies to you. I would seriously ask you to clarify what does the person mean when he mentions 'cash-back'. This is because cash-back is illegal and people caught doing this can be guilty of criminal fraud.
